Woodland Ridge Goes Back to School

Woodland Ridge Goes Back to SchoolIt’s that time of year again! Children are waiting at the bus stop again, and classrooms are buzzing with activity. Woodland Ridge residents are excited about going back to school too! Last year, we began a partnership with Nickajack Elementary School: Woodland Ridge residents read to kindergarten classes each Friday morning.

We’ve missed our friends at Nickajack over the summer and are looking forward to being back in the classroom this fall! Our residents thoroughly enjoyed sharing stories of travels and of growing up in a different time with our young friends there. The students’ enthusiasm is a welcome boost to our day as well.

This year, we also want to support students at Nickajack Elementary School with a back-to-school supply basket. Donations will make a huge difference for students whose families may not be able to provide all the school supplies they need. The most needed items are wide-ruled paper, pencils, crayons, markers, and glue sticks.

If you’d like to support our partnership with Nickajack Elementary, please drop off supplies in our front office any time in August. Our residents will present the donated items to the teachers when we have our first reading sessions in September. We know the teachers and students will appreciate our support!
