Resident Spotlight – August 2025

Our Resident Spotlight shines on Ms. Blanche Irvin for August 2025. Ms. Blanche is from Shiloh, Georgia and grew up with six sisters and 5 brothers. While at Carver High School, Ms. Blanche enjoyed the English classes and sewing.

Her first job was in childcare. After high school graduation, Ms. Blanche cared for a general’s children at Fort Benning Military Base. The family moved to Massachusetts, and then Ms. Blanche went to City College in New York City and received her Registered Nurse degree. Then she lived in Harlem, New York, and worked at Harlem Hospital. After she came back to Georgia, Ms. Blanche worked at Grady Hospital and retired from there.

Ms. Blanche loves going to family reunions and homecoming at her church, Bethlehem Baptist. She remembers her family making a big celebration for her mother’s birthday on December 26th each year. Ms. Blanche loves to travel and has been to Czechoslovakia, Jerusalem, Israel, Germany, Paris, France, and Alaska. Her other hobbies include being a member of the Quality Living Senior Center, where she danced and traveled with the group. She also loves to shop for the latest fashions at Lenox Square Mall.

Here at Woodland Ridge, Ms. Blanche enjoys bingo, group exercise classes, socializing, going to lunch outings, and being outdoors. Ms. Blanche’s happy attitude and sweet smile make her everyone’s friend.
We’re so glad she decided to call Woodland Ridge her home.
