CaraVita Home is now offering interactive classes in Dementia Care. This is part of our Community program- DementiaLife which seeks to help those in the community become more aware of Dementia and how to best support someone living with Dementia. You may sign up individually or classes can be taken out to social and church groups in the community.
These classes will begin initially with Second Wind’s Dreams Virtual Dementia Tour to be offered Monthly at our office at 648 Mimosa Boulevard. You can call 770-643-1712 and sign up – in 30-minute slots from 2-4 pm on the dates listed. The Tour is free, but donations can be made to Second Wind Dreams.

Additionally, a one-hour Dementia Friends Class will be offered that helps everyone in a community understand what dementia is, how it affects people, and how each of us can make a difference for people touched by dementia. This is ideal for local churches, Sunday school classes, high school service groups, social clubs, and the general public. In the new year, we will be offering a series of classes for family caregivers on the Person-Centered Approach to Dementia, and how to best communicate and understand behaviors. Next month we will cover more about our DementiaLife Program and how it can individually help you and your loved one.
