Employee Spotlight – May 2024
In our Employee Spotlight this month is Chalame “Shay” Brown, our Resident Care Coordinator.
Shay is originally from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and grew up in a family with 8 siblings. She says she spent all her free time at the beach, going fishing or crabbing.
After graduating high school at 17, Shay went on to Albany Tech to start her medical career. She received a Medical Assistant license at age 20 and a Pharmacy Tech license at age 26. She has been a Resident Care Coordinator for the past 2 years and came to Woodland Ridge in January of 2024.
Hobbies for Shay are shopping, and hiking, especially the Silver Comet Trail and Piedmont Trails. Her other favorite hobby is traveling, having visited all of the 48 contiguous United States.
Shay loves working with the elderly and her caring attitude is evident in all she does. When talking about Woodland Ridge Shay says, “I love our residents! And Bella, the beagle too! I love the way Woodland Ridge feels so homey.”
We’re so glad that Shay joined our team of dedicated caregivers for all our residents.
