This month, Woodland Ridge has selected two employees as our Employee of the Month – Peyton Mahon and Pauline McCants! Peyton and Pauline share the weekend duties at our front desk, alternating weekends.
Peyton is from Dallas, Georgia and has one brother and one step-sister in his family. He attends Mount Paran Christian School and is a senior set to graduate in 2020. That means he is busy visiting college campuses and trying to make his selection. Peyton has applied to the University of Georgia and Auburn University, but he says there may be others since he’s not done visiting campuses. His area of study will either be in the medical field or something in statistics. Peyton’s dad is Bear Mahon, our COO from Caravita. Peyton says he’s always been around his dad’s work in long term care and Bear told him that when he was an infant, he would bring him to see the residents. They would “pass the baby” so everyone got a chance to hold him if they wanted. This was at the time when Bear worked here at Woodland Ridge nearly 20 years ago. Peyton has had another summer job, working at a summer camp watching kids which he also enjoyed. For hobbies, Peyton loves sports, plays football and enjoys swimming at the lake, but hanging out with his friends is what he likes to do in his spare time. Peyton’s mom works in Human Resources, so between both parents, it’s easy to see why Peyton feels so comfortable at our front desk! We love Peyton’s caring attitude and ready smile. He always makes a great first impression and is always helpful to everyone he meets.
Pauline McCants is originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma and comes from a family with four sisters and three brothers. Pauline was number seven and the baby girl! Pauline’s career was spent working for a healthcare company in their IT department for 35 years. During this time, she moved to Atlanta in 1985. After she retired, Pauline came to work at Woodland Ridge, three years ago this month. Pauline has two children and five grandchildren. In her retirement, she enjoys hiking, reading, going for walks with groups and her line dance classes! When talking about Woodland Ridge, Pauline says, “I enjoy assisting our residents whenever I can.”
We are thrilled to have, both, Peyton and Pauline as a part of the Woodland Ridge family. Thank you for all your hard work!
