Our resident of the month for November is Ms. Beverly. Ms. Beverly is originally from White, Georgia which is near Cartersville. She has 2 sisters and 1 brother. The family moved to Atlanta when Ms. Beverly was 7 years old. Some friends introduced Beverly to her future husband when she was just 14 years old. She insisted they wait to get married until 2 days after she turned 20, because she didn’t want to be a teenage bride. They had 3 children, 2 sons and 1 daughter as well as a grandson.
Ms. Beverly and her husband were married for 60 years before he passed away. While her husband worked at Lockheed, Ms. Beverly was a very involved Mom, becoming the room Mom and PTA President. She was often the team Mom for her son’s baseball teams too. At church, Ms. Beverly taught Sunday School for the Women’s class and sang in the choir, pairing up in a duet for special occasions.
Crafts, art and painting are Ms. Beverly’s hobbies and she loves to entertain. Ms. Beverly was often called on to plan, decorate and cook for showers or other events. She loves Thanksgiving and Christmas. Her daughter remembers the big dinners, Santa visits and all sorts of fun things they did for the holidays. It’s in Ms. Beverly’s nature to care for others. She has often been the caregiver her friends and family could turn to.
Here at Woodland Ridge Ms. Beverly enjoys the music, pets and craft classes. We love having her sweet attitude and 1000 watt smile!
