Our Resident Spotlight shines on Janet Cabellero for June. We’re happy Ms. Janet decided to call Woodland Ridge her new home.

Resident Spotlight – June 2024

Our Resident Spotlight shines on Janet Cabellero for June. Ms. Janet is originally from Hawaii, growing up with a brother and 2 sisters on a sugar plantation where her father worked. She says it was wonderful growing up there and remembers learning how to hula dance and the fun games they played as children. They had a goat named Butchy that they all played with.

After Ms. Janet graduated from high school, they closed down the plantation and her family moved to Los Angeles. Ms. Janet found a job working in the theater. Ms. Janet had 1 daughter, Teresa, and 1 son, Perry. When her children were in their late teens and early 20s, Ms. Janet married Joe who was also from Hawaii and they moved to Atlanta where Joe worked for Delta Airlines. After he retired, they bought a van and traveled all over. Ms. Janet also has 5 grandchildren.

Music and word puzzles are Ms. Janet’s favorite things to do. She has quite a record collection! Here at Woodland Ridge, Ms. Janet enjoys Name That Tune and other music activities, pet visits, outings for lunch or just a ride, crafts, and parties. At our Dancing with the Stars event last July, she showed Kathryn how to do the hula and we’re looking forward to more dancing this year too.
