Resident Spotlight – June 2025

Our Resident Spotlight shines on Gilda Inclan for the month of June. Ms. Gilda is from Bahia, Brazil, and grew up the middle child between 2 brothers. She remembers loving to go to the beach a lot as a kid. They could see the ocean from their house. In school, Ms. Gilda enjoyed languages, sports competitions, and the arts.

After high school, Ms. Gilda went to school to be a teacher and completed those studies, but changed her mind about teaching. Her first job was working in a bank. She went back to school, taking stenography courses and doing secretarial work too.  When she came to the United States, she went to Miami Dade Community College and studied Respiratory Therapy. After graduating, she worked in the hospital for most of her life.

Ms. Gilda has one son, Eric, and one grandson, Sam. Ms. Gilda has fond memories of the trip to Disney World she took with her son, and helping him with his Robotics team. Ms. Gilda says she loves her son’s sense of humor and his creative mind. She is most proud that he achieved his dream and became an aerospace engineer. Ms. Gilda is a single mom who worked very hard. Her son says he loved the “lazy days” when they would spend time together with their favorite foods and snacks, just watching TV and relaxing at home.

For hobbies, Ms. Gilda enjoys anything creative, like arts and crafts. She loves going to the beach, soccer – her favorite soccer player is Pele, and loves the local travels she gets to do with her family. Her motto is to “Always celebrate life.”

Here at Woodland Ridge, Ms. Gilda enjoys the exercise classes, reading to the kids at Nickajack Elementary, the arts and crafts, music, lunch outings, and shopping trips.

With her winning smile and happy attitude, we’re so glad she decided to call Woodland Ridge her new home.
