Resident Spotlight – September 2024
Our Resident Spotlight shines on Lillian Barnett for the month of September. Ms. Lillian was born in a small rural city called Lagrange, Tennessee. At a very young age, her family moved to Memphis, Tennessee and she grew up with one sister, as well as several pets. Ms. Lillian thrived and was an honor student and received a four-year college scholarship when she graduated from high school.
After high school, Ms. Lillian went to Le Moyne College and Indiana University, becoming a member of their honors club. Ms. Lillian graduated and received various degrees and awards from both institutions and became a successful educator, guidance counselor, and public speaker.
Ms. Lillian married Ralph Barnett, an educator and minister and they have one daughter, Jean Hill. Jean and Ricky Hill have two children and two grandchildren who love and adore their mother and grandmother.
Along with her teaching, Ms. Lillian is very involved in her church and is a well-known public speaker. In her philanthropy, she has helped fund many organizations and served in many capacities in her church, neighborhood, and school. For hobbies, Ms. Lillian loves to read and loves to travel. She’s traveled extensively to many countries and been on over 20 cruises.
At Woodland Ridge, Ms. Lillian enjoys attending Bible Study, music, pet visits, exercise, and participating in the weekly field trips. She enjoys the companionship, social activities, and interactions with staff.
We’re so glad she decided to call Woodland Ridge her home.
