Our May Resident of the Month is Ruby. We’re happy that she had the time to share her story with Woodland Ridge so other residents can learn more about her life!
Ms. Ruby is from Greenville, South Carolina, where she lived most of her life. She came to Georgia to be closer to her daughter, Lanita, and her son, Thomas Jr., shortly before moving to Woodland Ridge.
Ms. Ruby was married to her husband, Thomas Sr. for over 50 years. They had six children and as Ms. Ruby says, “More grandchildren and great-grandchildren than I can count.” Besides being a stay-at-home mom, Ms. Ruby worked as a domestic and was always working at her church.
Ruby is famous for her cooking, especially her macaroni and cheese, fried chicken, or turkey and dressing.
In her spare time, Ms. Ruby loves to plant flowers. To her, her family and her church have always been her primary focus. She loves gospel music and here at Woodland Ridge, she attends most all activities, especially enjoying the music, bingo and children’s groups.
We love Ms. Ruby’s pleasant smile and quick wit. Woodland Ridge is proud that she is our May Resident of the Month and thank her for sharing her story!
