EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT 03-22
In our Employee Spotlight for March is Karren Scott. Karren is originally from Cleveland, Ohio. Her family moved to Decatur in 1970. While in high school, Karren’s favorite activities were playing flute in the marching band, playing violin in the orchestra, being a cheerleader, running track and playing tennis. After high school, she went on to attend Concordia College in Moorehead, Minnesota in 1980, majoring in psychology and history.
When she had her first child, she decided to become a nurse and graduated from the nursing program at Atlanta Area Tech in 1992.
Here are Karren’s beliefs about the nursing profession. “Nurses should be compassionate, loving, caring, dedicated and understandable. A nurse must be able to put emotions aside to get the job done. Nursing is not a 9:00 – 5:00 job, it is 24 hours, 7 days a week. Many times, a nurse must put their own family aside to help other families. I thank my 5 children for their continuous love, support and understanding for the work that I do to help make people’s lives better.”
Karren came to Woodland Ridge in June of 2021. She says, “I like Woodland Ridge because of the great people that are here.” Woodland Ridge is so pleased to have such a dedicated nurse on our team and feel so fortunate to have Karren here with us!
