Amy Brannen, Administrator of Woodland Ridge Senior Living and VP of Administration for the Management organization CaraVita, was awarded the Roswell Rotary Service above Self Award for 2021. Amy has been a member of the club since 2013. Amy is an active member working with the Honor Air committee which accompanies veterans to visit Washington, DC, and tour key military memorial sites such as The WWII memorial, the Korean War memorial, and the Vietnam memorial. A tour of Arlington National Cemetery during the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, as well as a few other sites, is made during the day long round trip from Roswell. Amy has been fortunate enough to have several residents from Woodland Ridge participate on the tours. As one of her residents/veterans put it, “Thank you for making this such a great time and memory for me.”
When the pandemic hit, Amy was at the forefront of our response by working closely with the local public health department coalition to do our utmost to stem the spread of COVID-19 in our assisted livings and private duty healthcare arenas. Amy was fortunate enough to be contacted by a local pharmacy regarding providing Woodland Ridge with the Moderna vaccine in late December 2020. Physicians Pharmacy became a valuable partner with Woodland Ridge and CaraVita to provide vaccination clinics for over 1200 grateful people. We were able to get healthcare staff, residents at Woodland Ridge as well as other hospice, home health, and home care staff vaccinated in early January 2021. The partnership also led to several other vaccination clinics being held at Woodland Ridge, CaraVita Home Care and Roswell United Methodist Church. We were also able to help facilitate other clinics at other assisted livings and churches so we could get as many people vaccinated as possible!
Amy graduated from Georgia Southern University in 1992 with a BS in Criminal Justice degree. She is a graduate of the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy. She served as a Deputy Sheriff in Charleston County, South Carolina and prior to working at CaraVita worked as a private investigator. In 2005, Amy joined CaraVita as their VP of Administration and helped grow our agency three-fold. Since 2015, she has also served as the Executive Director of the nonprofit Woodland Ridge Senior Living in Smyrna, Georgia. As one of our resident’s family put it, “Amy is service above self. I feel so comfortable having her oversee my loved one’s care.”
We are so proud that Amy is recognized for something that exemplifies her credo in life.
