Meet Michael Wood, Marketing Director at Woodland Ridge!
This month, we’re excited to recognize Michael Wood, our Marketing Director, for his dedication, positive attitude, and the meaningful relationships he builds with our residents and team.
Michael was born and raised in Georgia in the Hampton/Peachtree City area. He grew up with three brothers, making him the oldest of the four boys. Michael’s father worked as a custom home builder and supervisor, inspiring a strong work ethic that Michael carries with him today.
As a young man, Michael dreamed of becoming a missionary. He attended Fayette Christian School from 6th through 12th grade before continuing his education at Georgia State University, where he studied Political Science.
Michael began working at the Fayetteville Dwarf House at the age of 16 and remained there for five years. His career took a new direction after having lunch with an Executive Director from Sunrise Senior Living, where he discovered his passion for sales and senior living.
For the past three years, Michael has been a valued member of the Woodland Ridge family. His favorite part of the job is spending time with our residents. He loves making them laugh, sharing conversations, and bringing joy to their day. He also enjoys interacting with his coworkers and being part of such a supportive team.
Outside of work, Michael has a passion for traveling. Hawaii is one of his favorite destinations, and he also hopes to explore Puerto Rico and South America. He enjoys surfing and is always looking forward to his next adventure.
Michael is the proud father of a 21-year-old son, and spending time with him is one of his greatest joys. His father now lives in Ellijay, Georgia, where Michael and his family enjoy one of their favorite traditions celebrating Christmas together, tubing on the river, and making lasting memories.
