🌟 March 2026 Employee Spotlight: Welcome Jaylen Young, Our New Resident Care Coordinator! 🌟
We are excited to shine our March 2026 Employee Spotlight on Jaylen, our new Resident Care Coordinator!
Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, Jaylen grew up in the Lavista area with three brothers and one sister, the middle child. Much of his childhood was spent with his grandmother—attending church every Sunday, visiting garage sales, and helping prepare Sunday dinners for family and friends. These cherished experiences helped shape his strong family values and deep love for community.
Jaylen attended Oak Grove Elementary School, Henderson Middle School, and graduated from Maynard Jackson High School. He is currently continuing his education at Cambridge College to become a Registered Nurse. His dedication to learning and professional growth reflects his commitment to providing exceptional care.
His first job was at Bruster’s Ice Cream on Cobb Parkway, where he developed strong customer service skills and a solid work ethic. Although he originally planned to pursue fine arts, including dance and acting, his career path took a meaningful turn after high school when he accepted a caregiving position. Through that experience, he discovered his passion for serving the geriatric population and helping others, ultimately inspiring him to pursue nursing.
Jaylen joined Woodland Ridge on January 5, 2026, and has truly enjoyed serving our residents ever since. What he values most about his work is the opportunity to bring comfort, care, and joy to those in need. He prides himself on being consistent, dedicated, motivated, and always willing to go above and beyond. He is especially proud of his personal growth and resilience in overcoming early life challenges. Outside of work, Jaylen enjoys going to the movies, shopping, and spending time at home. He proudly describes himself as a homebody.
One of his favorite family traditions is the long-standing Christmas Eve gathering, which began nearly 90 years ago. He treasures looking at photos of his mother and her siblings as children, gathered around the Christmas tree, singing songs, and opening gifts. Today, multiple generations continue to come together each year to share food, exchange presents, and celebrate, reflecting on the love, unity, and faith that guide his life.
Jaylen describes himself as loving, caring, and positive, and someone who strives to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. We are pleased to have him as part of the Woodland Ridge team and look forward to all the wonderful things he will continue to accomplish!
