Each year we take the time to recognize one employee who truly represents the heart behind our mission at Woodland Ridge. This year, we are excited to announce that our 2019 Employee of the Year is Oscar Galvez, our dedicated and hard-working Director of Maintenance.
Oscar was awarded the Employee of the Month this past April [2019]. You can click here to read a bit about his story and what brought him to Smyrna, Georgia, to serve seniors in his previous feature blog.
On any given week, you will find Oscar somewhere on the Woodland Ridge property, helping to make Woodland Ridge a better home to residents and employees alike. He is often seen painting rocking chairs, repairing A/C units, or even just joining in a dance with one of the many residents who adore him. It is not hard to tell that working with seniors is far more than a job to Oscar, it is a calling.
Our vision at Woodland Ridge has always been to be the assisted living provider of choice and inspire and nurture each senior that we serve and the way we do that is by providing person-centered care that seeks to journey alongside our residents and enables meaningful engagements and relationships. Oscar is a wonderful example of someone who truly goes above and beyond to help meet the unique needs and preferences of each resident in order to make Woodland Ridge the best community experience for all who join.
Furthermore, he is a perfect example of the Woodland Ridge values of integrity, honesty, professionalism, trust, and JOY!
We are so blessed to have Oscar as part of our team and wish him congratulations on this fantastic honor – it is so well-deserved!
