Our Woodland Ridge Resident of the Month is Pat! Ms. Pat is originally from Wilson, North Carolina. Pat’s family moved several times when she was young because Pat’s father worked as a ceramic engineer in different brickyards. They ended up in Macon, Georgia.
Pat was always very intelligent and did well in school, and before her marriage, she worked for the FBI. Even after having her two daughters, she did the bookkeeping for her husband’s food brokering business. When her daughters went off to college, Ms. Pat went to work at Dobbins Air Force Base for several years.
Ms. Pat excels at drawing and always wanted to be an artist. She also loves reading, gardening, and enjoys working with computers as well. Her favorite hobby is traveling, especially to Europe or Canada.
Ms. Pat has always been very active in her church where she loves helping others. Her daughters say that some of those people she has helped over the years still call to check on her. When she worked with her church, Ms. Pat sang in the choir and traveled to assisted livings communities to perform. She even told her daughters that she wanted to live at Woodland Ridge after having been here to sing with the choir!
Besides singing, Pat plays the piano and would sometimes play for hours in the evening. She took piano lessons and even did recitals. Ms. Pat’s other loves are her two grandsons that she helped care for while her daughter was at work. Pat loves to dote on her grandsons!
Here at Woodland Ridge, Ms. Pat enjoys all the music activities, the trips out, the crafts, and especially loves the pet visits.
We’re so happy Ms. Pat chose Woodland Ridge as her home and is part of our family!
