The Resident Spotlight shines on Virginia Mohamed for August.
Ms. Virginia is originally from Baltimore, Maryland and is an only child. Her favorite family memory is when they spent time at the family’s summer home in Annapolis, Maryland, where she swam in the Chesapeake Bay, went fishing, canoeing and caught fresh Maryland crabs. Ms. Virginia met her high school sweetheart in the lunchroom when he came and sat at her table every day. He asked her to the prom and later became her husband!
Ms. Virginia’s 30 year career was spent as an elementary school teacher, specializing in Special Education in Baltimore. Because she had summer’s off, Ms. Virginia had many summer jobs, such as working in guest services and concessions at Norbeck Country Club, working as an undercover department store security officer for theft and loss prevention and owning and managing a horseback riding stable to name a few.
Ms. Virginia loves to paint and has some of her beautiful artwork on display in her room. She would be hired as an artist for different types of projects including the backdrops and props for school plays and performances. She did an installation at Fort Sill, Oklahoma when her husband was stationed there and has won numerous awards and accolades for her artwork and creativity.
Ms. Virginia’s other hobbies include writing poetry and music, visiting the casinos, the horse tracks, dog tracks and playing the lottery. Most of all Ms. Virginia loves spending time with family and friends, sharing memories and telling family histories.
Here at Woodland Ridge, Ms. Virginia enjoys the craft classes, music, exercise, pet visits by the larger dogs and parties.
We love Ms. Virginia’s infectious smile and wonderful sense of humor and are happy she’s a part of our Woodland Ridge family.
