You might’ve seen some angels recently. Yep. Right here at Woodland Ridge!
We love volunteers, and we recently had a group from UniPro Foodservice, Inc., who transformed some of our common areas from blah into bling!
UniPro picks charitable projects each year as a way for their team to give back to the local community. Both employees and their family members participate in these work projects. Headquartered in Atlanta just around the corner from Woodland Ridge, UniPro employs over 135 people and is the largest foodservice distribution collaborative in the United States.
UniPro’s Jeannette Thompson coordinated the efforts of their Wellness Committee and spent months planning the project with UniPro CEO Bob Stewart. Our back courtyard was in need of renovation and repairs, and our activities room needed a fresh coat of paint to bring new life to it. Both Jeannette and Bob were on hand for the work day on June 11, 2016. The crew spent hours painting our activity room and planting new shrubs and flowers, mulching, and cleaning the courtyard. They also repaired the outdoor benches and a gazebo area in the courtyard.
UniPro created its Wellness Committee in 2012 as a way for employees to be active in serving and volunteering in their local community. They’ve been involved in several projects and have partnered with Hands on Atlanta. In addition to Bob and Jeannette, Wellness Committee members Drew Shields, Jessica Boeve, Matt Milcoff, and Zack Davis were instrumental in giving the grounds and the activity room at Woodland Ridge a fresh start.
Woodland Ridge residents have already been using our additional courtyard area for their own fresh start—doing morning yoga! We are so grateful for the UniPro angels in disguise!
