Ginger – March Resident of the Month

Our March Resident of the Month is Ginger!

Ginger is originally from Darien, Connecticut, located near Long Island Sound. She remembers growing up near lots of horses and loved to ride and help take care of the horses. Walking or riding bikes near the Long Island Sound was her favorite as a kid.

Ginger says her family had two German Shepherds and seven Yorkshire Terriers. She says her Dad loved the dogs too, and when the Yorkie had puppies, he wanted to keep them all.

At age 17, Ginger and her family moved to Atlanta, and she graduated from the Galloway School. Ginger says she enjoyed the headmaster and went to school with the Martin Luther King, Jr. children. After high school she went to Georgia State University, graduating with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts degree.

Ginger told us her favorite art is silversmithing, but she also enjoys painting with oils or watercolors. Taking care of her mother before she passed away became Ginger’s job after college. She also worked for Art Supply Company for a while. One of Ginger’s favorite things to do in Atlanta was driving around town and eventually ending up at the Varsity. She says she loves their hot dogs.

At Woodland Ridge, Ginger loves to pet the dogs, enjoys the music activities and outings. Ginger has participated in the last two years of Dancing with the Senior Stars with Oscar, our Maintenance Director as her dance partner.

Congratulations, Ginger!
