Congratulations Anne Marie Samuels, our June Employee of the Month! Anne Marie is our Med Tech here at Woodland Ridge. Born and raised in Jamaica, she was a Sales Manager for a popular sportswear company. Anne Marie traveled back and forth to the United States for her work. In 2009, she decided to make the move to Queens, New York, where her friend encouraged her to become a home health aide. At first resistant, Anne Marie’s friend persuaded her to work for her for just one weekend. That was it! She fell in love with the lady she was caring for and realized that she really wanted to work with seniors.
After discovering her passion for caregiving, she realized this was something that she wanted to make her profession. She attended a 2-week class in New York, and then went on to achieve her CNA. Anne Marie started working at an assisted living community, and then transferred to another property in Georgia. She enjoys Georgia very much, and in fact, her son, Royaye is currently attending Georgia Tech.
Even though she misses her family and Jamaican food, she really loves living here. Anne Marie loves to shop, go to the movies, and eat at her favorite restaurant, Red Lobster.
She has been a part of the Woodland Ridge family for two years and can be seen distributing medications in both our assisted living and memory care neighborhoods. Anne Marie has a full, joyful laugh, and she is always upbeat. She is a team player and pitches in where she is needed. We are thankful to have such an exuberant employee who loves what she does, and it shows.
