Woodland Ridge is excited to showcase Elizabeth, our September Resident of the Month! Elizabeth was born in the Philippines and was an only child. She graduated from the University of Manilla with a Business degree, and in her early 20’s became the lead singer in a musical band! Elizabeth married a military man, and together, they eventually moved to East Texas, where they had three sons and four grandchildren.
Life at Woodland Ridge
For four and a half years Elizabeth has been living at Woodland Ridge. She loves to knit and crochet beautiful items, and has a contagious laugh with a great sense of humor! Elizabeth enjoys makeup and fashion; she’s almost always seen wearing lipstick!
Elizabeth has an incredible knowledge of music and musical trivia – she is just about impossible to beat at our “Name that Tune” activity! She not only knows the name of the song, and who sang it but, sometimes, she even knows most of the words! She credits her knowledge to the fact that she sang a lot as a child.
At most Woodland Ridge activities you can find Elizabeth, and especially at Bingo, she loves Bingo! Elizabeth also enjoys going to the Braves games, putt-putt golf, and any other adventure Kathryn, our Activities Director, has planned.
Elizabeth has been an avid participator in our Dancing with the Senior Stars and will be performing again this year… with her boots on! Our Dancing with the Senior Stars event is a magical evening of dance competition in which our residents choose a staff dance partner and participate in a thrilling dance off! This fun-filled evening allows staff and residents alike to enjoy great exercise and quality time together!
For those who are unfamiliar with Woodland Ridge, we are an active senior living community. Retirement does not mean you have to slow down.
