It takes a very special person to be a caregiver in a memory care neighborhood. Veronica Peal is a very special person, which is why she is our Employee of the Month! Veronica is one of our med techs and has been with Woodland Ridge for six years!
Veronica was born in Liberia, Africa with one brother and six sisters. When she was in her mid-20s, she moved to Minnesota to live with her Aunt and attend CNA school. She applied for many jobs and had a dear friend in Atlanta, which is how she ended up at Woodland Ridge and has been here ever since.
Veronica has a seven-year-old daughter that is in the first grade. They love to watch movies together along with Veronica’s mother, who eventually moved over to the States to join her daughter. Another one of her hobbies is shopping, and she also sings in her church choir. Veronica says that she doesn’t watch much television but loves to read. When asked what some of her favorite things were about America, Veronica said,
“Chili’s ribs and gender equality!”
She loves the freedom here where she can speak her mind. She is also so happy that her daughter is growing up with that same ability. Veronica has a great sense of humor and is constantly amused by our sweet residents in memory care.
Thank you, Veronica, for being such a great addition to Woodland Ridge! If you know someone with a memory impairment who could benefit from sweet, caring staff like Veronica, then contact one of our memory care experts today!
