Lois – October Resident of the Month

Lois was born in Cullman, Alabama and lived there until her move to our Woodland Ridge community! Cullman is an interesting and historic small town seeing that it was colonized by Germans after the civil war. Lois is also our October Resident of the Month and we are excited to highlight her story! Lois grew up as an only child; not having any other siblings, she became the caregiver for both of her parents when they began needing help. Lois is more than just a caring member of her family but has a caring nature, and she spreads this kindness throughout our community!

Even though her first date with her then future husband was a blind date, it was love at first sight! Together, Lois and her husband had two sons. When Lois was not spending time as a mother, she worked part-time at a doctor’s office. She also enjoyed playing bridge with her friends and spent time being as a Homeroom Mother at her sons’ school. Lois always puts family first and is insistent on introducing each and every family member when they visit us at the community. She is so proud of her family especially now that she has 2 grandchildren and great-grandchildren!

We are so happy to have such a caring person as a part of our Woodland Ridge family. Lois is usually found in the middle of the action here! Her face particularly lights up when we have live music and she also loves playing “Noodle Ball” and any sort of trivia games. Lois is spunky, sweet, and definitely an extrovert. Cullman, Alabama’s loss is undoubtedly Woodland Ridge and Smyrna, Georgia’s gain!
